01Which wind direction works at Zandmotor
Wind from the northwest blows straight onto the beach. Safe is wind from south (190°) through west to north-northwest (340°), and from north-northeast (20°) through northeast to east-northeast (70°).
- Side-onshore 240° to 290° and 330° to 340°: the best angle: you ride back and forth easily and the wind pushes you back to the sand.
- Straight onshore 290° to 330°: safe, you always wash up on the beach, but getting away from the shore takes effort.
- Side-shore 20° to 70° and 190° to 240°: good to ride, but you do not drift back by yourself; stay close to the shore.
- Offshore 70° to 190° and 340° to 20°: the wind blows you out to sea; Kitewind does not count these hours as a session.
Everything outside that is offshore: the wind blows you out to sea. Why that is the biggest risk.
