01Which wind direction works at Workum
Wind from the west blows straight onto the beach. Safe is wind from south (178°) through west to north-northwest (348°).
- Side-onshore 195° to 245° and 285° to 335°: the best angle: you ride back and forth easily and the wind pushes you back to the sand.
- Straight onshore 245° to 285°: safe, you always wash up on the beach, but getting away from the shore takes effort.
- Side-shore 178° to 195° and 335° to 348°: good to ride, but you do not drift back by yourself; stay close to the shore.
- Offshore 348° to 178°: the wind blows you out to sea; Kitewind does not count these hours as a session.
