01Which wind direction works at Vrouwenpolder
Wind from the north-northwest blows straight onto the beach. Safe is wind from west (262°) through north-northwest to east-northeast (72°).
- Side-onshore 5° to 55° and 275° to 325°: the best angle: you ride back and forth easily and the wind pushes you back to the sand.
- Straight onshore 325° to 5°: safe, you always wash up on the beach, but getting away from the shore takes effort.
- Side-shore 55° to 72° and 262° to 275°: good to ride, but you do not drift back by yourself; stay close to the shore.
- Offshore 72° to 262°: the wind blows you out to sea; Kitewind does not count these hours as a session.
Everything outside that is offshore: the wind blows you out to sea. Why that is the biggest risk.

| Zones | You may kite to the right of the yellow buoy, seen from the beach. That buoy is at the first bridge, level with Vertigo. From May there are signs. From 1 May to 15 September, between 10:00 and 19:00, you may only kite from the first footbridge over the N57 to the municipal boundary with Noord-Beveland. On the Noord-Beveland beach, kitesurfing is banned from 1 May to 1 October, except in designated places. Outside the season, kiting outside the spot is tolerated. |
