01Which wind direction works at Texel Vuurtoren
Wind from the north blows straight onto the beach. Safe is wind from west (275°) through north to east (85°).
- Side-onshore 20° to 70° and 290° to 340°: the best angle: you ride back and forth easily and the wind pushes you back to the sand.
- Straight onshore 340° to 20°: safe, you always wash up on the beach, but getting away from the shore takes effort.
- Side-shore 70° to 85° and 275° to 290°: good to ride, but you do not drift back by yourself; stay close to the shore.
- Offshore 85° to 275°: the wind blows you out to sea; Kitewind does not count these hours as a session.
