01Which wind direction works at Texel Paal 17
Wind from the west-northwest blows straight onto the beach. Safe is wind from south-southwest (213°) through west-northwest to north-northeast (23°).
- Side-onshore 230° to 280° and 320° to 10°: the best angle: you ride back and forth easily and the wind pushes you back to the sand.
- Straight onshore 280° to 320°: safe, you always wash up on the beach, but getting away from the shore takes effort.
- Side-shore 10° to 23° and 213° to 230°: good to ride, but you do not drift back by yourself; stay close to the shore.
- Offshore 23° to 213°: the wind blows you out to sea; Kitewind does not count these hours as a session.
