01Which wind direction works at Rockanje
Wind from the west-southwest blows straight onto the beach. Safe is wind from south-southeast (152°) through west-southwest to northwest (322°).
- Side-onshore 165° to 215° and 255° to 305°: the best angle: you ride back and forth easily and the wind pushes you back to the sand.
- Straight onshore 215° to 255°: safe, you always wash up on the beach, but getting away from the shore takes effort.
- Side-shore 152° to 165° and 305° to 322°: good to ride, but you do not drift back by yourself; stay close to the shore.
- Offshore 322° to 152°: the wind blows you out to sea; Kitewind does not count these hours as a session.
Everything outside that is offshore: the wind blows you out to sea. Why that is the biggest risk.

| Current | If you go far from the shore, for example towards the sandbanks, it is hard to get back on your own if something breaks or the wind drops. |
| Zones | You may kite on the sports beach all year round. The bathing beach is off limits in the bathing season: according to the lifeguard club, from 1 April to 1 October, between beach pole 12.000 and 13.300. Yellow buoys mark that zone. The sandbank one and a half kilometres out is off limits. |
| Parking and facilities | Paid parking from April up to and including October. Food, drinks, and in summer toilets and showers. |
