01Which wind direction works at Noordwijk
Wind from the west-northwest blows straight onto the beach. Safe is wind from southwest (214°) through west-northwest to north-northeast (24°).
- Side-onshore 230° to 280° and 320° to 10°: the best angle: you ride back and forth easily and the wind pushes you back to the sand.
- Straight onshore 280° to 320°: safe, you always wash up on the beach, but getting away from the shore takes effort.
- Side-shore 10° to 24° and 214° to 230°: good to ride, but you do not drift back by yourself; stay close to the shore.
- Offshore 24° to 214°: the wind blows you out to sea; Kitewind does not count these hours as a session.
Everything outside that is offshore: the wind blows you out to sea. Why that is the biggest risk.

| Zones | Noordwijk has one free zone and three separate zones. Between beach access 2 and 4 you may only kite as a member of KSN. A day membership is not possible there and the KSN lycra is compulsory. At beach access 10, ZVN members and ZVN lessons kite. According to the municipality, the zone at Beach Break is only for kiters taking lessons there. Free for everyone is the beach at Radio Nora at Langevelderslag, 500 metres south of beach access 27. There is no supervision there. |
