01Which wind direction works at Maasvlakte
Wind from the west-southwest blows straight onto the beach. Safe is wind from south-southeast (167°) through west-southwest to north-northwest (337°).
- Side-onshore 180° to 230° and 270° to 320°: the best angle: you ride back and forth easily and the wind pushes you back to the sand.
- Straight onshore 230° to 270°: safe, you always wash up on the beach, but getting away from the shore takes effort.
- Side-shore 167° to 180° and 320° to 337°: good to ride, but you do not drift back by yourself; stay close to the shore.
- Offshore 337° to 167°: the wind blows you out to sea; Kitewind does not count these hours as a session.
Everything outside that is offshore: the wind blows you out to sea. Why that is the biggest risk.

| Zones | South of the spot lies a vulnerable nature reserve. You may not go there, not even a few metres. The boundary is marked with small posts, signs and yellow buoys. Kitesurfing is tolerated here, so stay inside the kite zone. |
| Level | For advanced kiters. Beginners are better off going to Oostvoorne or Rockanje. |
| Parking and facilities | Free parking. There are no facilities. |
